The Project ECHO Platform

Project ECHO is a force multiplying strategy to improve health care in rural communities. It is a program that uses Telemedicine/Teleconferencing like technology to improve the skills of primary providers over a range of chronic medical conditions. We believe that particular cloud based computing technologies have advanced enough to provide consistent access over Latin American fiber optic and 3G telecommunications networks. The program is composed of experts who will serve as advisors and facilitators in the discussion groups, pre and post workshops, conferences and online, as well as with feedback and research. This new technology and innovation will be able to improve the knowledge and skills of health care providers in both the short and the long term.
